Arno Coenen
Deventer, 1972
Born in Deventer, now lives and works in Klaaswaal. (The Netherlands). Most of Coenen's work involves computers, 3-D animation, radio programmes and video clips; he also appears as a VJ.
Arno Coenen belongs to a generation of Dutch media artists who grew up with digital media and is not limited in the media he employs. He has created a spectacular number of artworks which form a cross-section through a number of modern and traditional media, techniques and presentations.
Arno Coenen's work has been shown in festivals and shows in The Netherlands and internationally in countrys as Finland, the USA, Korea, Russia, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Germany and France. Ranging from such divers events as "The American effect" groupshow (2003) at the Whitney museum in New York up to a veejay show at Thunderdome (raveparty) in Thialf Stadium (The Netherlands).
The last 3 years Coenen worked as a juror for the FBKVB fund in Amsterdam and was guest teacher at the Sanberg institute, the Frank Mohr institute and the art academy in Breda. Video works of Arno Coenen have recently been purchased by the Centre de Pompidou in Paris and Museum het Domein in Sittard.
